RESEARCH (~2022) · KFDA MEDICAL EXOSKELETON (6 HOSPITALS) & AI THERAPIST

Gait Rehabilitation Exoskeletons (SUBAR) & Clinical AI Therapist

I earned my B.S. (2016), M.S. (2018), and Ph.D. (2022) degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Sogang University, Seoul, South Korea. My academic journey focused on hardware development and control algorithms for gait rehabilitation robots. Our research team achieved medical device certification from the Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA), enabling the deployment of our rehabilitation robots (SUBAR) in six hospitals across Korea. Over three years, we collected clinical robotic data from stroke patients and physical therapists, using machine learning and control algorithms to develop and implement an AI-driven therapist for gait rehabilitation.

Core Technical Stack (~2022): Control System Design, Machine Learning (ANFIS, PSO, RL), Human-Robot Interaction, Mechanical CAD (NX, SolidWorks), and real-time software in Python, C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW, OpenSim, and ROS.

TECHNICAL RECAP · GOOGLE CLOUD ONBOARD: GOOGLE SKILLS EDITION (WESTIN JOSUN PARNAS)

Architecting Enterprise-Grade Agentic Services on Vertex AI

What's the best way to follow up a solo win at the Google Gemini 3 Seoul Hackathon? By diving even deeper into the Google AI ecosystem! Building a rapid 7-hour prototype (GeminiSpace) is very different from building a scalable, enterprise-grade service. To take my multi-agent collaboration platform (Gouncil / M9G Agent Corps) to the next level, I attended the Google Cloud OnBoard — Google Skills Edition at the Westin Josun Parnas.

1. The Google AI Vision: Multimodality and Scale

Keynote sessions from Google Cloud and Google DeepMind leaders showcased the expansion of the Vertex AI Model Garden (200+ models including Gemini 3, Gemma 3, and open weights) alongside GenMedia on Vertex AI (Veo for video and Lyria for music). We are no longer just prompting text; we are orchestrating complex, multi-sensory data pipelines.

2. Track 1: AI Build-up — ADK, MCP vs. A2A Protocols & Cloud Run

Agent Development Kit (ADK) & Protocols: Learning the architectural distinction between the Model Context Protocol (MCP)—used to connect agents to tools and APIs—and the Agent2Agent (A2A) protocol for dynamic communication between distinct autonomous agents (e.g., a Travel Agent collaborating with a Flight Agent) provided the exact routing blueprint for the Gouncil platform.
Serverless AI on Cloud Run: Hosting LangGraph and ADK directly on Cloud Run, connecting to Vector Databases (AlloyDB / Cloud SQL), and automating CI/CD with Cloud Build.

3. The Highlight: 4-Layer Vertex AI Memory Architecture

Presented by Generative AI Field Solution Architect Sang-woon So, Vertex AI solves long-horizon context retention by separating agent memory into four human-like cognitive layers:

Memory LayerCognitive Role & Vertex AI Implementation
1. Session Memory (Short-Term)Captures contextual dialog state and tool return values during an active, ongoing session.
2. Personalized Memory Bank (Long-Term)Stores user preferences, profiles, and accumulated insights across multiple interactions over time.
3. External Information GroundingAccesses real-time world state and location-based facts via Google Search & Google Maps Grounding.
4. Internal Information RetrievalFetches enterprise/domain data using the RAG Engine and ScaNN-based Vertex AI Vector Search.

GLOBAL LEADERSHIP · AIESEC EXCHANGE TEACHER IN HUNGARY (2014)

AIESEC Exchange Teacher in Hungary — Winter & Summer 2014

I visited Hungary twice as an exchange teacher—experiences that remain some of my most challenging yet rewarding memories prior to starting my robotics research career, gained through my two-year involvement with AIESEC.

💡 Winter 2014: The Magellan Project

At Ferenc Földes Secondary School (Miskolc, Hungary), I led 10 classes where I shared insights into Korean culture, history, and my own academic journey. Beyond the presentations, I found deep fulfillment in discussing life goals with the students. Living in a multicultural environment, I spent my free time with a diverse group of friends from Brazil, Italy, Taiwan, and Hungary, which broadened my global perspective.

💡 Summer 2014: English Youth Camp

Later that year, I returned to Hungary to collaborate with educators from nine different countries. My focus was on making English accessible and engaging; I designed interactive activities to help students feel comfortable with the language while facilitating discussions on everything from daily life to pressing global issues.
